Hi everyone. I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and full of love and happiness. For some time I have been working on an idea that I think may be something I could use for sale in my little shop. In order to test this idea, I am providing a pdf file of a horse applique with instructions for printing it on fabric for use as an applique and the adding of thread work as a present for you. If you would like to download this and try it for yourself without obligation, be my guest.
It would be great, however, if you would provide me with some feedback on your thoughts about this…how this worked for you and what kind of appliques you would like to see provided in this way, for instance…that would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking of charging about $3 to 5 per pdf file, which includes the instructions, the schematic, the print file, and a pattern for the thread work as you will see in this pdf. So here you are…what do you think? Feedback please even if you don’t actually use it.
Instructions for Use of Downloadable Applique Images with thread objects
Sew happy everyone!
Hi BJ –
That’s a cool idea and it does seem to me that people would be interested in it, especially if it’s only $3-5. I don’t have time to try it now, but might try it out after the holidays.
Nancy, Thanks for the feedback. There is no rush on this. I’m still waiting for my shop carrier (GoDaddy) to get the downloadable ability on the shop, but they said it would be sometime within the next month or two. So I thought I would get started on this. So if you try it in a while from now, I’d still appreciate your feedback. Cheers.
Your directions seem quite doable although, I think it would have been helpful for actual steps as I was thinking the schematic was in the wrong place. . .but, then, I have a rotten cold so maybe my head just isn’t thinking like it usually does!!!
Thanks Terry. The steps would probably be helpful. I’ll incorporate them in my next item. Feel better.
I only do hand applique, so I’m not sure if this is intended for me. It’s not clear if this is only for machine applique etc. The horse is nice and well done. Good idea. Go for it!
Terrie, I think it would be difficult to do this by hand. The horse’s legs are narrow. I suppose if one were very good, they could cut the horse out from the fabric after printing with a narrow turn under edge, but I think it would be harder than it is worth. The instructions tell you how to do it by machine, if you want to give it a try. 😀 Anyway, even if you don’t, thanks for the feedback.
